Creating Opportunities for Personal Empowerment (COPE)

Research shows that 1 in 4 children and teens experience anxiety and depression. Approximately 25% of these children and teens do not receive treatment due to the large shortage of mental health providers across the United States. The research also shows that patients are most comfortable discussing such sensitive concerns with their primary provider.

Depression and anxiety are treatable and there is hope for positive change. Our providers at College Plaza Pediatrics are here to help. As an alternative to traditional mental health treatment, the Creating Opportunities for Personal Empowerment (COPE) program offers a 7-session evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) program delivered to children and teens who are experiencing depression and anxiety. Patients are offered a series of skill-building activities.
